Bright Beginnings Preschool and Mother's Day Out began in 1992 as a 2 day a week program as a ministry of Disciples Christian Church. In 1998 we expanded the program to three days a week and became licensed by the State of Texas Department of Family and Protective Service. In 1999 we further expanded the program to five days a week. Linda Gulick has been the Director since 1998. The program's hours are Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 pm. Early drop-off at 8:30 a.m. is available at an extra cost. We closely follow the Plano Independent School District's calendar including major holidays and breaks throughout the year. We serve approximately 75 families each year with low teacher to student ratios in each class. We have an open door policy that encourages all parents to stop in at any time and discreetly observe their children. Please call the Preschool Office at 972-398-2240 or our direct line at 214-770-0854 to schedule a tour of our facilities and meet the staff.
D
isciples Christian Church Plano was formed over forty years ago. The mission of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ): to share the good news of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving, and serving from our doorsteps to the ends of the earth. Beliefs and practices usually associated with Disciples include:
-
Open Communion. The Lord's Supper, or Communion is celebrated in weekly worship. It is open to all who believe in Jesus Christ.
-
Freedom of belief. Disciples are called together around one essential of faith: belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Persons are free to follow their consciences guided by the Bible, the Holy Spirit study and prayer, and are expected to extend that freedom to others.
-
Baptism by immersion. In baptism the old self-centered life is set aside, and a new life of trust in God begins. Although Disciples practice baptism by immersion, other baptism traditions are honored.
-
Belief in the oneness of the church. All Christians are called to be one in Christ and to seek opportunities for common witness and service.
-
The ministry of believers. Both ministers and lay persons lead in worship, service and spiritual growth.
