            Bright Beginnings Preschool (BBPS) and Mother's Day Out (MDO) is a Christian-based non-profit Early Childhood Development and Mother's Day Out Program for Children ages twelve months through six years old. Bright Beginnings Preschool and MDO is a ministry of Disciples Christian Church. Our hours are 9:30 to 2:00 five days a week. We have early drop-off at 8:30 for an extra fee. At BBPS we believe that children will grow and flourish intellectually, spiritually, physically, and socially when given the opportunity. We also believe that giving children opportunities for success helps them build a positive self-image and prepares them for kindergarten and beyond.         

BBPS Registration

   Registration for Bright Beginnings Preschool and MDO 2011-2012 fall semester is now in progress. Registration is based on the age of the child on September 1st. Click on Forms to read more about registration requirements and tuition prices or to download a registration form.

Curriculum

   Our curriculum at Bright Beginnings Preschool and MDO is developed by the teachers to aid in the individual growth of the children. It is our objective to prepare the children for success in kindergarten and beyond. We include age-appropriate learning activities and crafts in each class. Classroom instruction includes both small and large group activities and learning centers designed to compliment weekly teaching topics. The children also have weekly Spanish, Chapel and Music classes. In addition, we offer special educational and social events throughout the year such as: Police and Fire Department visits, Grandparent's and Mother's Day Brunches, Thanksgiving Play and Feasts, Christmas and Spring Sing and Pre-Kindergarten Graduation Programs.

Faith Teaching

   All of our classes promote Christian teachings and values. There are regular Bible stories and activities incorporated into the curriculum, and Christian songs are part of the music program. The children also meet weekly with Linda Gulick for Chapel Time and pray before meals. Our goal at BBPS is to provide young children with opportunities to learn about and enjoy God's world.

Staff

   The Bright Beginnings Preschool staff is composed of highly dedicated and qualified people. All staff are experienced in working with preschool aged children and are nurturing, creative and loving caregivers. We are a family dedicated to love and support of the children in our care.

   Each staff member must complete 15 or more hours of continuing education in early childhood related courses as required by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Our staff have passed fingerprinting and criminal history checks through Childcare Licensing. Our staff are also trained in CPR and First Aid.

   Our class student/teacher ration is different for each age group. Our goal is to keep class numbers low in order to devote more individualized time for each child.

  • Toddlers:   1 to 5 ratio   
  • 2 year-olds:   1 to 9 ratio   
  • 3 year-olds:   1 to 12 ratio   
  • Pre-Kindergarten:   1 to 14 ratio
